When I read that my client was a botanist who wanted a botanical tattoo, I was a bit intimidated. I’d been tattooing photorealistic botanical pieces for a few years and was feeling quite confident, but my client’s extensive knowledge and attention to detail had me counting petals over and over as I worked on her piece. Lucky me, because this epic and gorgeous tattoo starts in black and grey on her leg and explodes into verdant color over her lower back, climbs her ribcage, and blooms into magnolia blossoms all the way over the top of her shoulder. What a pleasure this piece has been to work on! This is a photo of the work in progress, a complete photo will come soon as we finish.
